Ford pinto expands the Mustang range for the first time in 55 years, bringing the famous ‘pony car’ into an electric era through the Mustang Mach-E, a new, all-electric SUV.
When it reaches the market in mid-March or April 2021, the Mustang Mach-E will be available with ‘standard’ battery options and with extended autonomy, in rear or all-wheel drive versions, powered by one or two electric motors, respectively .
In the high-end version, with the largest capacity battery (98.8 kWh) and all-wheel drive system (4X), the Mustang Mach-E has two engines that together deliver a total power of 351 hp, and the vehicle reaches a range of 540 km, according to WLTP regulations. The price of the car is 66,600 euros.
With the same battery, but only rear-wheel drive (RWD), the Mach-E has an engine that guarantees 269 hp and can cover up to 610 km. In this configuration, the electric SUV costs € 57,320.
The Mustang Mach-E will be available in a version with a 75.7 kWh battery and full traction, with 269 hp and 400 km autonomy (price: 57.840 €); and also with the same battery and rear-wheel drive, also providing 269 hp, but serving 440 km on a single charge (€ 49,900).
Ford proposes a Wallbox, which allows the battery to be charged with the equivalent of an estimated average range of 62 km for each hour of charge – in the Mustang Mach-E rear-wheel drive with a larger capacity battery. The standard Ford home charging cable can add an estimated average range of 14 km per hour of charge using a home outlet. A public charging cable is also part of the model’s equipment.
With a peak charging power of 150 kW, the Mustang Mach-E with larger battery and rear-wheel drive will be able to travel an additional 93 km after 10 minutes of charging in a fast-charging DC station. It is estimated that the Mustang Mach E with a smaller capacity battery will charge between 10 to 80 percent of its charge in about 38 minutes, in a DC fast charging station.
The Mach-E Mustang has three unique driving modes – Active, Whisper and Untamed – each translating a specific driving dynamic. We highlight a personalized response capacity, more sporty steering controls, ambient lighting, sound adjusted to an authentic 100% electric experience, and dynamic animations in the instrumentation cluster, linked to the type of driving employed.
The brakes have Brembo aluminum calipers and the suspensions are adaptive with a MagneRide damping system.
Making its debut on the Mustang Mach-E, the new generation of the SYNC communication and entertainment system, with a large 15.5-inch tablet-type screen, in a floating position, as in the Tesla Model X and S. automatically, over the internet (over-the-air).
The “Phone As A Key” 4 technology, which makes its debut in the Ford brand range on the Mustang Mach-E. Using the Bluetooth system, the vehicle can detect customers’ smartphones when they approach it, unlocking the vehicle’s doors and allowing them to start their journey without having to take the devices out of their pockets or use a key ring. A backup code can be inserted on a keyboard placed on the B-pillar to unlock the vehicle, and another code can be inserted on the central touchscreen to start and start the vehicle, in case the phone has no battery.
The rear luggage compartment has 402 liters of volume, reaching 1420 liters with the rear seats folded, and under the front hood there is an additional compartment with a capacity of 100 liters.
Ford will also provide a special high-performance version, the Mustang Mach-E GT, with an estimated power of 465 hp and maximum torque of 830 Nm, allowing the SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in less than 3.7 seconds .
